Jason’s parents Jay and Jill, and brother Jordan arrived here in Madang on Sunday, September 28th . We’ve had a great time with them and have built many memories together. Just a few days after they arrived we all flew into Tobo. It was wonderful to show them our home and introduce them to many of our tribal friends and the Tobo believers. It is something I know neither of us will ever forget. We went on hikes, ate in people’s houses, fellowshipped with the believers and enjoyed a lot of family time together (what else is there to do in the tribe?!) Grandpa built a playhouse for the kids up in our loft and Jason’s mom & I spent a lot of our time in the kitchen as I put her to work helping me cook…boy was it nice to share the load! After 13 days in Tobo we are now back out in Madang enjoying the sights & attractions here. The kids are thrilled to have their grandparents & Uncle Jordan right at their fingertips… and we are too! Jason & I just returned from a night out by ourselves…You got to love visits from grandma & grandpa!
Jason’s family will head back to Ohio on Saturday and we will return to the tribe next week after all the excitement is over. Please pray that Jason’s family will have a safe trip home. Also pray that when we get back to Tobo we will be able to change gears and focus once again on learning language and building relationships with the Tobo people.
