News and Prayer [Williamson Update]

Just wanted to pass on some encouraging news going on here as well some urgent prayer needs for one of the believers here. As many of you know we have been going through the book of Romans for the past few months with the believers. Nisae and I have been praying that as we go through this awesome commentary of our new life with Christ that God would be working in the lives of his children here in Tobo. Today at the believers meeting we taught from Rom 8:12-17 on how we can know without a doubt that we are God’s children because we are joined with Christ and fellow heirs with him. We also talked about how we also will suffer with him, but how God uses our trials and suffering for our growth and for His glory. After the meeting we reminded everyone that God can use his children to encourage others who are going through hard times.

Many of you know of Welsin.  A few weeks ago his wife cut her hand with an ax and it has become quite infected.  Despite many attempts to help it heal, the infection has gone up her arm and underneath by her chest and she is in severe pain. Welsin has not been able to help out with the teaching going on in Dabiliu village, he has put this aside to provide for the needs of his wife and his 6 kids. Welsin also has a dislocated shoulder that has not healed well and so he is trying his best to take care of his family but struggles with some of the basic tasks like cutting wood and gathering food.

After the believer’s meeting today we reminded the body to pray for Wesin and his family. I told them how Welsin and his family were going through some hard times and short of food and firewood.  I encouraged everyone to get some food and firewood and bring it up to them to help them.  So this afternoon we and several of the believers hiked up to see them and pray with them as well as to give Welsin’s wife some food, firewood & medicine. It was such an encouragement to see the believers that came to encourage them. Some of them went of to their gardens first loaded their bags full of food and gave it to Welsin and his family.

Please pray that God would display His power in her life by healing her body quickly.  Pray also that this opportunity for the believers to help will be an encouragement to Welsin and his family.  Every day we’re reminded of the battle waging here, and we covet your prayers for all of us who are involved!

We are also thanking the Lord that our friend, Lynell, who will be teaching our kids arrived safely last Sunday!  Nisae and the kids flew out to meet her and her mother and spent the week in town getting some school testing done, leaving me to continue on with the teaching in Dapilyu village.  They are all now back in Tobo and getting back into routine here, which has proved to be a little challenging since Eden, Kadynn & Judah are all sick with a stomach virus.  Please pray for healing for our kids so we can begin school again and so Nisae can dive into language.

Your hands & feet,

Jason, Nisae, Kadynn, Judah & Eden
