[Williamson Update] Waiting

“Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.” Ps 37:5

“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” Ps 37:7

We are going through a time right now of waiting.  We are waiting and asking the Lord for direction for the Tobo church and we are asking Him direction for our family.  We are out of the tribe for a break right now and are seeking the Lord for our future.  The verses above have been an encouragement to us as we walk with the Lord each day.  Our job is to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to Him and to wait upon Him and trust Him.  As we do this, He will do it.  That “it” that Psalms 37:5 refers to, is whatever decision, whatever road we have in front of us that we are asking the Lord to show us.  It’s encouraging to know that we can rest and wait on Him to do it!  Isn’t that simple?  Well, it is if we believe it and choose to yield our wills to the Lord.  Please pray for this in our lives right now.  The following quote from George Mueller has also been an encouragement to us.

“"I seek at the beginning to get my heart into such a state that it has no will of its own in regard to a given matter.  Nine-tenths of the difficulties are overcome when our hearts are ready to do the Lord's will WHATEVER it may be...when one is in this state, it is usually but a little way to the knowledge of what His Will is."

We’re not at the place where we are thinking of the leaving the field or quitting our ministry among the Tobo people.  But things are such that in our ministry in the tribe we really need clear direction from the Lord as to what comes next for the church.  We believe the Lord wants something to change to spur on growth in the lives of the believers and we are seeking Him to find out what that change needs to be.  We also have a medical issue in our family for which we are trying to figure out the best course of action.  These things are requiring our family to remain out in town for several months, and to wait on the Lord.

Please be in prayer for the Tobo church, that the Lord would use this time in their lives to stand up for their belief and to follow Him, whether that means rejection or hardship for them.  They need to take ownership of the gospel and begin to function as a body.

Please also pray for our family as we decide what is best in our situation.  Our break is proving to be a much needed time to focus on our kids and their schooling needs as well as to be refreshed and encouraged by friends.

Thanks for your prayers!
